Café with a whole lot of Sol

It's not often I blog about restaurants (ok, I've never blogged about restaurants). Reason being, I'm very picky about where I go and what I eat. (Ok, again I lie, due to budget constraints and other motives that shall not be mentioned, we settle for food prepped by little Chinese men, served on a rotating conveyor belt.)

If however, you are lucky enough to find a sucker, oops! I mean, someone kind enough to sponsor your meal, I strongly recommend the below.

Café del Sol is not your typical trattoria. One would often expect a joint run by an old Italian couple and their delinquent son, Alessandro (just seemed fitting). Food drenched in olive oil and that all so dodge table of stubby men in the corner with names like Tommy the Tongue. Not this place...
Nestled in the heart of Olivedale, just off Malibongwe, Café del Sol is an urban fusion of eclectic food, music and excellent service.

Their menu boasts an array of antipasti ranging from Calamari Limoncello to Springbok Carpaccio.

If you're anything like me and can never make up your mind when it comes to food, good luck with this one!

They have an amazing selection of Risotto's, traditional pasta dishes, some pollo specialties and cater very well for all you carnivores that enjoy a juicy steak or rack of tender lamb.

The décor is light, modern, relaxed and very convivial. But my absolute fav has to be the motto's  exemplifying a slice of life adorning the walls - everything from Coco Chanel, Buddha, Mandela, Einstein and Rumi.

Ok, back to business... the food!

If pictures say a thousand words, scroll and drool...
