It wasn't until my hubby was travelling 2 weekends ago that I found myself home alone and decided to whip out my Tyler Perry Collection. Unwaveringly set on the couch in my pj's, a bottle of Shiraz (OK maybe 3 bottles of Shiraz #hides) and cheese, I was in for an arresting chick flick marathon...
At number 1 was my absolute favourite: Good Deeds. Honestly feel like this has to be some of Tyler Perry's best work. Can't remember the last time I smiled, laughed and cried all in one movie. Frankly, this is the one time in my life I will EVER find myself cheering for "the other woman". Truly moving, uplifting and defines the outcome of the choices we make in our relationships. - 5 out 5 cups of sugar, spice and all things nice.
My number 2 has to be Diary of a Mad Black Woman. There's just something about Kimberly Elise that makes her character so real, especially when she gets her own back! Favourite line in the movie, "I'm not bitter. I'm mad as hell". Aren't we all? This is a true depiction of how you should never mess with a woman and the basic laws of our good ol' friend Karma. - 4 out 5 cups of sugar...
Number 3 is Why did i get Married 1 & 2. Both these movies were just so much fun to watch. The kinda movie you can watch over and over with your girlfriends and it still makes for good conversation. Love that crazy Angela (kinda reminds me of...me) Certainly feel that guys should see this one. Gotta give it 3 out of 5 cups of sugar, it got a bit predictable at times. Why did i get Married 3?
At number 4 was Madea's Family Reunion. Such a feel-good movie. Compiles a great cast of black deliciousness (Blair Underwood, Boris Kodjoe and Henry Simmons). This one is most def for the ladies - 3 out of 5 cups of brown sugar baby!
Number 5: For Colored Girls - A little too deep for me with all the poetry but nonetheless a good watch. - 2 out of 5 cups... Too spicy.
If you enjoy Tyler Perry's productions as much as I do, then you'll have a blast with these. Makes for some good "me-time". Just don't forget the wine #smiles
